Defeat Satan With Music

I’m currently reading Ray Pritchard’s latest book ‘Stealth Attack’which is basically a battle plan for Christians to use in the fight to defeat our oldest adversary - Satan.
Ray devotes an entire chapter to the use of music and song in our spiritual walk and opens it with this quote from Martin Luther:
“I have no use for cranks who despise music, because it is a gift of God. Music drives away the Devil and makes people happy;they forget therby all wrath, unchastity, arrogance and the like. Next after theology, I give to music the highest place and the greatest honor.”
Ray suggests that we should fill our hearts with God-honoring music all day long and I agree, and to make it easy to find some suitable music to sing I’ve added a section of Christian music videos to my blog, you can find it here Christian Music
At the moment most of the music is from Darlene Zschech and Hillsong, I think God has truly blessed that church with some wonderful musicians and singers and I never fail to be uplifted whenever I watch any of their performances.
There are a couple of videos - not by Hillsong - that I have included that I think are particularly uplifting if, like most of us do, you sometimes find yourself struggling in your faith and need uplifting.
Nicole C Mullen’s My Redeemer Lives which, inspired by the book of Job, is a reminder - if any were needed - that unlike any other faith, as Christians we have a living Saviour. “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!” (Job 19:25-27 ESV)
You Raise Me Up is a reminder that, with God, anything is possible. We just need to have faith. I would be the first to admit that sometimes it is difficult and I listen to this song when I find myself needing reassurance. And I watch the video which shows God at work in Africa to remind myself just how blessed we are here in the United States. I think it is very easy to forget and take our blessings for granted.
