Cleaning

Dear Lord Jesus
As I go about my housework
Let me see each job I do,
As a service for my King
And a way of loving You.

I Love The Lord
October 27, 2008
Well, I told THE LORD I loved Him today. And He said to me, “How much do you love me? You haven’t told anyone how good I’ve been to you. You haven’t shared how perfect my love is. You haven’t spread the good news that I am always there to listen to your problems.
A Reading of Psalm 23
September 23, 2008
There once was a Shakespearean actor who was known everywhere for his one-man shows of readings and recitations from the classics. He would always end his performance with a reading of Psalm 23.
Each night, without exception, as the actor began his recitation “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want”… the crowd would listen attentively. And then, at the conclusion of the psalm, they would rise in thunderous applause in appreciation of the actor’s incredible ability to bring the verse to life.
Before I Was a Mom
September 18, 2008
Before I was a Mom – I made and ate hot meals. I had unstained clothing. I had quiet conversations on the phone.
Before I was a Mom – I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.
Clean Blood
September 5, 2008
The day is over, you are driving home. You tune in your radio. You hear a little blurb about a little village in India where some villagers have died suddenly, strangely, of a flu that has never been seen before. It’s not influenza, but three or four fellows are dead, and it’s kind of interesting. They’re sending some doctors over there to investigate it.
The Faith of a Child
August 15, 2008
The father, a well digger,
Strong was he,
And as loving and kind
As a father could be.
And Mary his daughter,
Just five years old,
Was very much dearer
Than millions in gold.
The Quilt
July 28, 2008
As I faced my Maker at the last judgment, I knelt before the Lord along with all the other souls. Before each of us laid our lives like the squares of a quilt in many piles.
An Angel sat before each of us sewing our quilt squares together into a tapestry that is our life. But as my angel took each piece of cloth off the pile, I noticed how ragged and empty each of my squares was. They were filled with giant holes. Each square was labeled with a part of my life that had been difficult, the challenges and temptations I was faced with in everyday life. I saw hardships that I endured, which were the largest holes of all.
